Samsung Galaxy S5 Active — Phone does not work with car apps

This is my first forum. Bought a 2015 Nissan Altima and have a Samsung galaxy 5 phone. Car Service men assisted but no luck....indicated it is a software issue with my phone to work the apps on my car and I need an Android / Samsung update. Phone is compatible with make of car.

Is anyone aware when an update may occur?
