What apps are found within Android 4.4.2 tablet to format an sdcard?

The thing is that the tablet recognizes the card but can't access it.

A bigger problem is that don't know how to transfer any file between the tablet and my iBook G4 running OS X 10.5.8, but this can wait a little.

I searched for a disk diagnose tool within Google Play and the best option found there was "sylkat", which is a partitionig tool. Then a new issue arose: there it is stated that it needs Root level and within an android device I didn't know how to proceed to acquire that level of authority. I didn't event know if it is posible to open a shell.

This card was used for putting inside an ISO file for booting up an iBook G4 running OS X 10.5.8 (still inside). So, I'm suppossing it's not damaged nor full.

I'm suspecting it has something to do with that boot-enabling bit that must be ser in order that the card can be used as a booting device but not sure.
