I updated my Facebook App for Android on 11-31-2015, since that time I am unable to connect to the app unless I am connected to WiFi.

I think you have done restrict background data by mistake, check its settings in app manager.

New Facebook app needs fast internet speed. if you are using 2G data service it will not work. upgrade your data pack to 3g or 4g.

If this is the problem may be you need to check your mobile storage space, as Facebook gradually takes up more and more storage space on your device. I have noticed that Facebook keeps expanding the amount of storage it takes up on Phone the more you use it because Facebook opens up links within the app on its own internal browser instead of on an external browser like Chrome or Safari.
You could delete the app and just use your browser.
