Hi ,
I have recently updated my whatsapp on OnePlus2 to 2.12.367. My Google drive chat backup option is gone and I am able to backup to local storage only. But with the same version number the Google drive backup is available on other phones I have checked on Samsung Galaxy Note2/Note3 & Moto E 2nd Gen.
Please suggest.

Uninstall the app, download a new one from their site and install again. That fixed for me!

Thanks for the info, Just a small question will all the chat history be restored after re-installation.

It will be restored, but if you don't run a manual backup, you will lose chat history between your latest automatic backup (should be 2 AM last night) and the moment you uninstalled the app. So run a manual backup immediately before uninstalling.
Meanwhile, I have the website version of the app (2.12.366) installed, to keep the Google Drive function, but the Google Play version is 2.12.367 (without Drive function) so I had to disable automatic updates. Is it the same for everyone else?

I have 2.12.367 updated from play store on my other phone(Moto E gen 2) . i have the google backup option there. But it is not working on OnePlus2.

I guess it depends on the device then, although I don't see why it should. In any case, with 2.12.366 downloaded from their website, I have the Drive feature and it works.
