For personal use nothing really matters because nobody will ever know. But for everything else. Making graphics for a card game is really as simple as it can get when it comes to making game graphics. Cards are flat, you don't have to worry about shadows, lighting, complex colors, etc

Anyway, if you plan on releasing this as a serious app, you should never skimp out on graphics.
