Samsung Galaxy S5 — Ringtone & notification volumes

I use the same ringtones on my S5 that I used on my S4. They used to blast me out of my chair on the S4. But, on the S5, not so much. In fact, I can barely hear it when it's in my pocket or belt case. What am I missing?
