OR

Go to Google Play Store with your device. Click " APPS ". Click the magnifying glass of the search. Type exactly, character by character, :

Proximity Sensor Accelerometer by Steven Stanley Bayes

PLEASE, NOTE : MUST BE TYPED EXACTLY AS SHOWN, EXACTLY AT THE " APPS " TAB OF GOOGLE PLAY STORE, BECAUSE THE SEARCH ENGINE OF GOOGLE PLAY STORE IS VERY SENSITIVE.

Click on the displayed app with the same name and author to download and install. The application is also available in many other app stores and online which may or may not show after a general purpose search with google.com and a web browser but some forums where the links are posted may show.

READ THE INFORMATION INSIDE THE APPLICATION FIRST.

Really or virtually disable the proximity sensor while in calls, made and received. Keep the proximity sensor disabled more permanently. Enable at will with a click and without restarts. Use a shaker control of the screen. Use proximity sensor control of the screen.

PLEASE, NOTE, SOME MENU SELECTIONS CONSUME BATTERY ENERGY OTHERS DO NOT. ALL THESE ARE EXPLAINED IN THE INFORMATION IN THE APPLICATION. USE THE MENU SELECTIONS WHICH CONSUME ENERGY TEMPORARILY OR WHEN THE DEVICE IS POWERED BY AN EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE.

This application does not require any third party software in general. However, only two menu selections, which really disallows the proximity sensor require XDA Framework and Xposed Installer and Xposed Jar. THERE ARE EQUIVALENT MENU SELECTIONS WHICH DO SIMILAR ACTIONS WITHOUT THE NEED TO INSTALL THESE NOR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE.

This application allows the user to make and receive calls with proximity sensor disabled. Also with speaker powered automatically thus the proximity sensor does not power the screen down. This application allows the user to select the accelerometer or the proximity sensor to control the screen. Also to keep the screen always powered.

When the speaker when in call is chosen, all calls made and received will be made with a powered speaker and the proximity sensor will not power the screen down when a call is made or received. The volume of the speaker can be adjusted to preserve battery energy. The standard speaker click can be used to power the speaker down. The device can be put in a zip bag and run while in the zip bag without taken out. This is great for wet weather and in a dusty and unfriendly environment. This also is a great health and personal hygiene option as the device will not be contaminated by ear wax and other sources of contamination and bacteria.

When proximity sensor control of the screen is chosen, the screen of the phone powers down when there is an object close to the proximity sensor. Thus, the screen will automatically power down when the phone is put in the pocket or put screen down on the table. This works regardless whether the user has chosen to keep the screen to be always powered or whether the screen is normally controlled by the OS. When the phone is away from and object, the screen powers automatically unless the screen has previously been powered down not by the proximity sensor but by other means, such as the OS or a press on the Power Button. When, in addition, the screen has been chosen to be always powered, the user can use the phone as a flash light which can easily be turned on by, say, placing the phone close to the chest. This way, the user can shine light for a while to see around, then, quickly stop the light and then, whenever needed, to quickly turn the light on again with just a movement of one hand and not by the power button although the power button will also work as set up. This way, the user would save battery energy as compared to constantly flashing light which may not be needed. The power button still works but the proximity sensor, when used
as a switch, is easier to use than the power button.

When accelerometer sensor control of the screen is chosen, the device works as a shaker : shake to power the screen down and shake again to power the screen up. The shake parameters, such as amplitude, peak count, measurement period, etcetera, can be adjusted to prevent accidental power up or down in most or all environments.

More information is available in the application.

First : I am to update with an update in the next 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, you can try out the present version OK.

To do so, with your device, you have to go to the website where the application is in order to download the application. Because I am a new member of this forum, I cannot post the link directly. This is why, I have to explain how to get there. Go to www, then dot, then Steven-Stanley-Bayes, then dot, then com. Close some automatically inserted advertisements until you get to the index page. You may need to refresh the site to do so.

Once you are on the main ( index ) page of the site, scroll until you see a bunch of links one after another. The first link says : Download Proximity Sensor. Click. Your device will start to download the app and position a file, called ProximitySensor.apk in you Download folder of your phone. The notifications on the upper openable bar of your phone will say " Download Complete ". You can click the notification AFTER the message " Download Complete " is displayed OR you can go to your Download folder and ensure there is no message alike " Queued " under the name of the file. Once the file is completed, you just click on the file at the Download file OR you click the notification and the installation starts automatically. Once installed, there will be an icon in your Home apps ( the middle lower button of the phone opens these ) and a name " Proximity Sensor ". Click to launch the app. Hit INFO first to read the information. Then hit the settings icon ( the three vertical dots in the upper right corner ). Make your selections. Hit Start. Whenever you want, hit Stop. The app will stop doing what has been doing and you can Start the desired selected features whenever you wish. When you do not the app to be running at all, hit Exit. Then, you have to re launch the app again from the Home app screen as you have done before.

Just click Google Play, click Apps, on the search field type " Proximity Sensor, Steven Stanley Bayes ", install and open the application. Once the application opens, do not do anything else but first press the Info button which will provide you with a lot of information.

Then, you can decide whether to use the application or to uninstall.

The application can also always be fully stopped and exited when you press the Exit button. There is no risk.

100% FREE!

Everything I make has been 100% FREE! This is a principle. I do not charge people money for anything.

Obviously, in case anyone wants to donate a penny, this person is very welcome. The donation can be made via PayPal to Steven.Stanley.Bayes@gmail.com

This is like a charity. THERE IS NO ANY MORAL NOR MATERIAL OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER. THERE IS NO CATCH. THE APPLICATION IS EXACTLY THE SAME FOR THOSE WHO DONATE AND THOSE WHO DO NOT. In other words, I beg for donations and I do not enforce them nor do I trick with paid versions, etcetera.

The new version 2.0 is now available at Google Play and other sites. Please, use the first link to Google Play available in the original pist of this thread.

When so selected, the new version allows to disable the proximity sensor to power down the screen by the speaker. All calls, made and received, go through the speaker. Adjust the volume appropriately to preserve battery energy. When the device is used next to the ear, adjust the volume to very quiet for the same reason.

This oprion can be unabled or disabled when in call and always by a press of a button.
