A few months back I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8". I then went to Super Su on my tablet and done a "complete unroot" or something like that. But then yesterday I tried checking for updates but it said my operating system is modified? I unrooted it forever ago? Why does it still say its modified?

How can I completely re-install EVERYTHING and just reset it? I heard something about using Kies but I am sorta lost, since I'm sorta a newbie at rooting. And I believe this is my LAST time rooting a device.

~~Also, the reason I want to unroot is because my tablet is suppose to be getting the Lollipop update in a few months, if you have any information about that too let me know~

Hi Bradlee, there's a counter built in to the software on all devices that alters to a different number when a device has been rooted, so you will be stuck where you are and no updates will be possible im afraid , its the makers way of protecting the firmware from you and me so we cant mess with it and cause problems then claim the company warranty to get it fixed. apparently there's a small app called "triangle away" that supposedly resets the internal counter to zero again , BEWARE!! i do not personally support this action but offer the info to you so that you may check it out
via google and do further research and make up your own mind on what your next move may be , i have no first hand personal experience of this but have only read about it, i leave it with you but do let us all know how you get on , good luck

I reinstalled the stock firmware. Now it sais my System Status is Offical. And it lets me check for updates so that is good. However it still shows that i tripped the knox warrenty but thats okay since I dont think I had a warrenty for my tablet anyway. But It should still let me do updates since I reinstalled the stock firmware and removed the root access. I guess i will figure out when lollipop update comes for my tablet.

thanks

According to me if you have purchased it recently so just go to their service center and don't tell that you have updated it and take their help to overcome it.
