Can the optical image stabilization not be working?

On the initial Lollipop update (5.0) some users experienced the OIS (Optical image stabilization) could be intermittent. It was resolved in 5.0.1+, but a temporary solution is to change to photosphere then back.

thanks very much. I am running 5.1 now and I tried your solution. It works but is a bit cumbersome.

I'm on 5.1 too and haven't noticed this. You could try another camera app to see if it's hardware related.
