Could anyone possibly help and provide me with some advice?

I recently bought a moto x (2 gen), and the colors are wow.. bright, even on the lowest setting. I can't look at the phone for more than a minute, without having eye strain issues (hard for eyes to readjust/feels like my eyes need a stretch, and a few headaches). I've looked into apps to help the brightness/temp, but most seem to be full of malware.

Any ideas how I can make my phone more comfortable to my eyes? I do have a 2.0 Samsung 7" tablet, which doesn't cause me any problems really, except very slight eye strain, which isn't bothersome. I'm not sure if my eyes just don't like the phone... and I need something better, or what. I did look into the Samsung Note 4, it seemed to cause less eye strain, but made me feel a bit dizzy looking at it for more than 10mins.
