Does anybody have problems opening links from within the Facebook smartphone app? If you do, here is a quick tutorial for how to open links in an external browser using the Facebook App:

From inside Facebook, tap the menu button and choose App Settings, then select Always open links with external browser from the menu that appears. You can see I have ticked the option in the screenshot below:

It's really that simple. Let me know if you have any other Facebook app tips :D

You could use Opera Mini, it will show you the mobile version of Facebook.

There was a good article written over at Android Central on how/why uninstalling the Facebook app can increase your device speed, and also how using your browser to access the site doesn't affect your user experience.

*I can't link to it atm as I'm a new user but it was titled "It turns out uninstalling Facebook for Android is pretty great" and was written by Russell Holly.*

In the Facebook App, go to Settings > Media and Contacts > Links Open Externally. Enable that and it will use your Phone default browser instead of the built in Facebook browser.
