Hi,

I think about replacing my aged Siemens mobile phone by a cheap Android device.
I want to retain my old mobile phone account. Therefore, I want to block mobile access to the internet. Interenet access shall be given only via my private WLAN. However, on rare occasions restricted mobile internet access should be possible.

Would it be a good idea to buy a dual-SIM phone (for phoning by SIM 1 and surfing by a prepaid SIM 2)?

Would root access be necessary?

Are there any objections against one of the following devices?

  • LG Optimus L3 II Dual SIM
  • Samsung Galaxy Young DUOS

I would be thankful for your advice.
