Help removing a custom OS/ROM?

Okay, i traded my phone to a friend for a Note II and later came to learn that it's been rooted/hacked/whatever. I want the standard OS back, cause i dont trust anything unless i do it myself. Soooo what is the best way to go about this? When it boots up, it says avatar and has a pic of a mardi gras type mask. Any help/advice guys??

Well, I would goto the sammobile/firmware section and download the stock ROM available for your region, use the Odin to flash it over to your device. Once the flashing process completes your device will be unrooted and you will be running the stock ROM.
