We have developed as Multi-Network Roaming SIM card that uses strongest GPRS signal, for use in Android PDAs that use Taxi Dispatch APPs like Autocab, Cordic and iCabbi.
The Android device is configured with our secure APN called: m2m.secure
The Android PDA is then configured for AUTOMATIC ROAMING, however with field tests over the past 6 months we have found that the Automatic Roaming feature does not always work! There is often a delay of anything between 30 to 120 seconds, which means there is a loss in data connection.
We have also found that sometime Networks are not connecting, such as Vodafone and 3 on Automatic Roaming.
However we have found that the Manual method of switch networks on Roaming works fine - every time!
QUESTION: Is there a known fault/error with Android with Automatic Roaming? as this issue is not happening with Windows Mobile Devices.
QUESTION: Is there a way to control or adjust the Android Automatic Roaming config, so that a Roaming Data SIM will automatically roam onto another network if there is NO GPRS signal being received by the PDA.?
