Android is definitely taking over, but as its been said, Apple is a status symbol, however I would mention that where I live HTC Android phones are also considered almost as a status symbol as well... so I would say Android is winning

Like em both. Android is highly configurable (use it myself), but Apple is just so clean and nice looking (for my GF).

From a developer's point of view, Android versus iOS translates to World vs iOS. Apple won't be able to cope in the long run. The signs are already here: El Capitan, their new operating system after Yosemite.

I think after the introduction of Android N, Android will soon beat iOS as many features of iOS are introduced into Android N which gives same feel as that of those iPhones.

It is a typical question but I found easier to operate Android phone that iOS. Android phones are affordable in price also.

Android is ok and has the best price/quality ratio... as a smartphone OS. I still prefer IOS for tablet though.

iOS is faster than Android, Android is more dynamic and less expensive, iOS is more for simple users (meant in technical way).
