Alarm Doesn't Work On Optimus Black

so i just got an optimus black and the alarm didn't go off because it was turned off. is that normal? i thought the alarms on phones were supposed to go off automatically. can anyone tell me what the deal is?

thanks for the concern, Gee. it wasnt a major problem, but it's annoying that I have to keep the phone on all night to hear the alarm. don't want to be getting calls all night and texts

just turn your phone to silent and keep the alarm volume high. problem solved
