I've had the Galaxy S2 for about a week now and I'm pretty happy so far. But I would very much like to remove the pre-installed software that comes with it.

It's network-locked to Vodafone. I guess this is why I'm unable to change certain things?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alex,

you have to root your phone. Several HowTos are in the net. BUT: be careful! You are losing guarantee and if you delete the wrong app ysour phone won´t work anymore. I´ll try to find a list of those

Yes, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how into rooting you are), you need to root the device in order to remove things like Samsung Hubs, or whatever stock firmware that's bugging you.

Here are instructions on how to root the SGS2 that look fairly reliable.
