I'm using a Pixel 7 Pro and a Windows desktop.

I don't like using the keyboard on my phone. I'd rather create a text file and then send it in a new WhatsApp message.

I have a text message in my internal storage but I can't find a way to copy it and then paste it into my new WA message. How do I do that?

Tips: You can use a third-party file-sharing app like Google Drive or Dropbox to get the text file from your Pixel 7 Pro to your Windows PC.

Thank you for your reply.
I went through 10 screens of the link you sent but didn't see anything other than stuff related to Photoshop.

I think you can take advantage of the nifty feature, Drop, of Microsoft Edge web browser. Use Drop to share files and messages between your phone and desktop devices. Simply drag and drop files to share instantly or send notes to yourself while you browse in Microsoft Edge and stay in the flow.

Thank you for your reply. I've never used Edge - I use Firefox instead.
I think I found a way to do what I want by using web.whatsapp. I'm just trying it out now, and will see how it goes.

Thank you for the tip.

I don't have a problem copying/moving files between my Pixel 7 and my desktop. The problem I had was copying/moving files between my desktop and a new message in my WhatsApp application.

The WhatsApp Web does work well. In addition, you can also take advantage of some of the classic methods. For example, you can use some email apps such as Outlook on your Pixel 7 Pro and Windows desktop to share a text message.

First, locate the text file on your phone's internal storage using a file manager app. Once you've found the file, long-press on it to select it, and then choose the "Share" or "Send" option from the menu. Look for WhatsApp in the list of sharing options and select it. This will open a new chat in WhatsApp with the file attached. Choose the contact or group you want to send the message to, add any additional text if needed, and then tap the send button. On your Windows desktop, ensure you have WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp desktop app installed. Open the app, scan the QR code using your phone to sync the devices, and you'll be able to view and respond to the message with the attached text file directly from your desktop. This method allows you to bypass using the phone's keyboard for text input on WhatsApp.

Thank you for replying.

I installed WhatsApp Desktop and was able to type in a message and send it. No more problem!
