Can media and chat history be restored from two different backup files?

I need help because I have messed up my whatsapp.

This is what happened:
I ran out of internal storage on my phone (although I have a lot of space in my sd card), to the point that I could not send a single text message. What I did was to connect my phone to my laptop by USB and moved the WhatsApp folder and subfolders to my laptop.

Issue:
Now, that I have moved it back, the date of creation of the media on the phone is new, so all my whatsapp media (thousand of photos and videos) show up in the gallery with the same date, which is impossible to navigate through them. More over, some of the images and videos are not showing up on the corresponding chat's media info. Some others show as blurred out.

What I would like to do:
Can I restore my media from my google drive backups, but restore the chat history from a local backup? My last google drive backup is prior to my mess, so I will get the media back. But I will lose the chats from the past few days. Is there any workaround?
