laptop doesn't turn on

How do I handle a task when my laptop doesn't turn on? More precisely the screen is lit but I can't log in to the desktop. Maybe the firmware or the Windows flew? Tell me what to do, I need help in this matter.

Restart. If it does not help bring it to a repair shop. It could be many things. If you have a recovery CD try to start it from there
