I've got a problem WhatsApp.
My mother can't use her WhatsApp anymore. I suspect her phone and WhatsApp has been hacked.
The account was last seen online about 15 hours ago. And the profile picture has been changed to a picture of Joseph Stalin from a Polish meme site. The phone number has left all the group chats.
Does anyone know what this could be? Or what to do next?

Copy your whatsapp folder to your SD card. Uninstall whatsapp from your phone.Email support@whatsapp.com and report what happened with the phrase “Lost/Stolen: Please deactivate my account” in the body. Usually they answer and react quickly.Once they have deactivated your account you have 30 days to reactivate it.Otherways, if it is not a big problem, the fastest solution is to change your Sim card and create a new account.

Yeah I thought so but I'm very interested in the reason why. I couldn't find anything on Google. The number doesn't send phishing text. And why would they change the profile pic. Is this something that regularly happens to other people and for what reason.
