This is by far the most annoying issue I have encountered. So the download buttons for media on phone are all gone, media downloads to your phone automatically. However if you were to send an image from WHATSAPPWEB to another contact, and then tried to download that image on your phone, it would be impossible. although you can click on the image, see it and share it. There is no way, nothing you can click or do to download a copy on your phone. The only way around is to screenshot it , and that might be troublesome.
