Google fit won't link to other apps

I have recently brought a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S10e). On my old phone I linked Google fit to many other apps. However on my new phone it won't connect. I just get a white box with a spinning wheel.

I have tried:

  • Disconnecting and reconnecting apps
  • uninstalling and reinstalling the apps concerned
  • Ensuring all permissions are enabled
  • Signing out of Google on my device

None of these have worked. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Samsung devices use Samsung Health app to collect and display fitness stats instead of Google Fit app.
In order to connect Google Fit to S Health, you should take advantage of a third party app called Health Sync. It's free and available on Google Play.

Thanks James, I have Samsung Health, however some apps I use will only connect with Google fit. I used Google fit on my S7 without a problem. I need to directly connect Google fit with other apps. Is this no longer possible on the s10e?

I mean that it is S Health other than Google Fit app which collects fitness stats. So, maybe you need to link S Health to Google Fit at first. Then connect Google fit with your other apps.

I tried, sadly Google Fit won't link to that either. It won't link to anything.

Is there no way of fixing it? It was fine on s7 - maybe I should have stuck with that!
