Sony Xperia Tablet Z — Is the repair shop trying to fool me?

I took my Sony Xperia tablet Z over to the repair shop, since the screen is broken (but the display works perfectly fine). They told me they are unable to repair the screen without damaging the display. BTW, the screen is very damaged (multiple cracks that go all the way to the edges of the screen).
Are they right or are they just trying to fool me??

Hi LadyXLR8

To the best of my knowledge the glass covering the screen can not be repaired with out replacing the Display. They are all one unit and you can not separate the glass protecting the display.

Take the device to a different repair shop and get a second opinion!
