Close your Whatsapp Messenger on your device temporarily. Or you have to take advantage of some third-party app for the special purpose.

You have to MUTE that particular person. You will surely receive messages from him/her but it won’t pop in your notification. So you can simply ignore that person.

Hi. Thanks for the message.
But he or she can see the double check icon that means message is delivered and the person is online but he is not checking the msg. The same time I want to show myself offline to the person.

you can try installing true caller. you will not receive notification of the messages you don't want because it includes the feature of blocking.

It is an interesting question and app makers should work on it. For instance, you may filter the contact for screening the incoming. No such option is introduced yet which could meet your needs. Android authorities should look at it to get the option live for all users.
