Hi all
I have a galaxy s7.
And I am being annoyed by a software update notification. I have gone into systems apps and shut off the notification for systems update!
But that notification keeps popping up on my home screen and every once in a while I will get a notification box pop up that covers the entire screen. And that box gives me 3 options
1. Install now
2. Install later
3. Schedule a time to install
Now I don't want to install it at all,
Not untill I find out more about this update!
Can anyone tell me how to shut off these notifications completely?

When that notification pops up, change your phone into airplane mode and then tap 'install now' in order to try to make out which APP the notification is from on earth.
If you have known the app, then go to its Settings to find an option to turn off updating check.

This is a addition to the previous post.
I just found out the update causing the notification is the android 8.0 Oreo with the 9.0 Rom experience.
They say it was designed for the
S7 (G935F) not for the G930F.
Funny thing... my phone is the
SM-930U.😶 any one know if that software is compatible for my phone?

I tried your suggestion to identify the app in airplane mode. There must be something different about my airplane mode, I couldn't identify the app.
However! You did lead me to the solution. Allow me to explain.
When you suggested that notification was coming through a different app I had a gut feeling I new which one it was!
I went into Samsung galaxy apps.
I shut off the notification. Then I denied the app permission to change the settings in my phone !
You see, galaxy apps was using that permission to override the settings in my software update program!
Then I shut down my phone, then powered up. The notification has disappeared from my home screen and I haven't seen that box pop up since.
Your suggestion was not the correct one for me, but it did lead me to the right solution!
And I just wanted to say thank you!

Well I patted myself on the back to soon! The notification has reappeared! The next time it covers my screen I will try your airplane mode suggestion again!
If you have any other ideas, please let me know!

When the notification box pops up it covers the entire screen, and won't allow me to open airplane mode until I tap the selection LATER!
When I do that nothing shows up in airplane mode.
