Block movies

Can I set up an Android 8 device so browsing is possible but NO movies (no YouTube and the like) will work? I know animated Gifs etc will work but I want to block out streaming videos completely. This is for my child so the setting must be locked.

I want a device that is only usable as a phone and for WhatsApp and I want to install a few applications but my kid should not be able to install anything on its own. Browsing is OK, but no videos please. I have looked through a number of parental control apps but I found nothing about my specific requirement: browsing, but no movies.

I am not sure what brand the device for your child is. AFAIK, Huawei mobile phones have a built-in feature, student mode, which will help us enable some parental controls.

A screenshot is as below. Just for your reference.

The currently planned device is Blackview A20 (extremely cheap replacement for a lost IPhone). It is using Android 8 - but the "Go" variant for slow devices.

I am convinced that most parental controls - i.e. controlling which apps may be installed or which movie ratings are allowed - are doable with what Android has onboard or with a parental control app if necessary.

I just don't know if I will be able to disallow playing movies with the build-in browser.

Some friend suggests an app for you, Secure Teen. In general, a parental control app should have the basic feature of web and video filtering.

You need to use any parental control app to block movies and selected apps.
