I have recently switched phones from samsung j5 to a galaxy s6. I also changed network providers. when i re- installed whats app i do not receive the activation code or get a call. I have reinstalled several times and even factory defaulted the s6 to be sure there were no strange issues. The S6 receives normal messages and calls without issue and i have quadruple checked my country code and mobile number.

Whats app email support is worse that useless.
Anyone have any idea about how to resolve this or get help on it?
thanks

Did your phone S6 or carrier treat that code SMS as a spam message?
Check the privacy or security settings of SMS. Or ask your carrier for help.
Good luck to you.

Hi James. Thanks for the quick response. I have checked for any spam filters but cannot find anything. But I should still then receive the call from whatsapp with the activation code i would have thought?

If so, make sure that the package installer of the latest edition of WhatsApp is from either google play or its official website, please.

Try this, worked for me. Clear data for Whatsapp, Put your phone in Airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi. Open up Whatsapp and put your location manually and input your number as you regularly would, when it prompts you to confirm your number, turn off airplane mode and press OK. This should let it reset and you should receive another SMS which should verify

Facebook now owns whatsapp.
Try calling Facebook customer service.
You just might get some results!

I think this is a problem of app, not a device
