Google assistance voice was fine, them I stopped begging able to hear it. I tried restarting the phone redownloading assistant and starting over.
Still not hearing her voice talking back. Any more suggestions, searched work fine it is just her voice is no longer able to hear

Did you check your media volume setting?
On my gs5- you just press your up or down volume button. A box will pop up with ringtone volume, tap the dropdown arrow and you will see your media volume setting! Tap and hold then slide left or right to adjust volume.

Google Assistant has touted 6 new voices for the smart speaker. Change google assistant voice and check once if it is working. Perhaps, this might help you with better audible voice and all new user experience.
