Samsung Galaxy S5 — Poorly designed message screen

I don't know if anybody else has this problem but because the 'send' icon is located on the message screen itself (lower right) I frequently touch the icon in error - particularly if text on the right hand side of the screen needs editing - and send off messages prior to completion! Quite frustrating and I think the screen could be better configured.

Apart from trying hard not to be a butter fingers (!) are there possible solutions to this that I'm missing?
