Antivirus Apps, Yes Or No?

What are your views on them, particularly for someone who will be using unsecured wifi on occasions? Are they beneficial or unnecessary, and if the former, what do you recommend? People I know who use them seem to think Bitdefender and CM Security are pretty good, but that Avast is a bit resource heavy.

Well, An antivirus is not 100% secure, but it helps to identify some malware. The main secret to a more accurate security is common sense. Be aware of what is being installed on your device, what the source of the file is, access only trusted sites, etc.
I use AVG Pro and I've never had problems with my device until today.

Yes. I agree with you. In addition, we should backup any important data in our devices. I don't use any anti-virus app. (smug)

I do not use anti-virus app, but i do use a vpn. Helps me stay anonymous when i am on a public wi-fi.
