If I listen to a voice message to in preview (that is phone is locked and I get a pop up notice of the message), if I listen to the message does that trigger the listened to blue microphone or do does it not trigger the listened to blue mike until I actually go into the app?

Well, Rachaele is absolutely right. You just need a new microphone. With a magnetic loop. Or another one, I don't know. Not so long ago I bought one good microphone on the access-market.com. It was different from what you need, but you can search there something. Because the microphones from this shop are cheap and high quality at the same time. Maybe they can sell you a microphone with a magnetic loop for your phone? I don't actually know. My microphone was bought 3 years ago and it looks like completely new even now.
