I bought the iPhone 5 yesterday, and I tries to use iCloud to transfer all of my data from my 4s to my new phone, however, it only ended up deleting my contacts on the 4s. All I want to do is transfer my photos from my 4s to my new iPhone 5. How do I do it without deleting them?

you can transfer photos from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5 via iTunes.
Firstly, connect your iPhone 4S to computer via USB cable and drag photos from "iPhone folder" to an empty folder, you can name this folder "PHOTOS" .
Secondly, launch the latest version of iTunes on your computer and wait your iPhone 5 to be detected by iTunes. After detection, click your iPad icon and tap on "Photos" from the sidebar, select copy photos from the folder on computer called "PHOTOS"
Lastly, click sync to start transferring photos from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5.
