Recently been unable to use my phone as a phone because during calls (received or made) the phone continuously switches itself from speaker to handset and the sound cuts in and out.

I've searched for a solution but can't find this specific problem. I've tried removing all recently installed apps but this didn't help.

Issue of poor sound quality on calls android phone. Sometimes people can’t hear your voice during calls.

check your volume settings, adjust volume if low volume from device. While in a call, use speakerphone or wired headset to see if sound quality improve or not. If not fix poor call quality sound, issue is probable network signal strength. A bad network connection cause to dropped calls and poor call quality sound.

Try below troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Turn your phone off and turn on again

Step 2: Set connection priority as “Data only

Settings > Wireless & networks > SIM cards > Connection priority > Data

Step 3: Software update is available or not on your phone.

To manually check for updates, go to Settings > about phone > System updates

Step 4: Use safe mode to see if apps you installed are causing the issue

Press & hold the power button > Touch & hold the power off > Reboot to safe mode > OK
