Samsung Galaxy S4 — Home button Error with New Kitkat 4.4.2

Hi all

I updated my phone to the kitkat 4.4.2 version on my Galaxy S4, it did not give much problems except for my battery life that is draining extremely fast now, which is fine I can work around it, however for some reason once I updated I can't see my recently opened apps anymore. I hold in the home button and my phone vibrates but nothing happens, is this a part of the update or am I missing something?

4.4.2 has a huge battery drain problem.
after updating,go to recovery and clear cache then data/factory reset. this will remove any conflict with previous versions.
