So do I buy the Z1 now, or wait for the Z2 to come out in the UK? Will it be worth the price difference?

There's not a huge difference between them: 0.2" bigger screen, snapdragon 801 vs 800, 3gb ram vs 2gb, all very nice but it's not groundbreakingly better. It depends what you want, though. The z1 is nowhere near end of line yet, and Sony are now much better at supporting their older models, but ultimately the z2 will get updates before the z1, and will be supported for longer.

May not be any help to you but personally I'd go for the z1 compact over the z1, purely for the jump to the 20.7mp camera.

they both have 20.7 megapixel cameras, and 4.3 inch screen lacks 1920x1080 resolution and looks washed out

well getting hands on with both a Z1 and a Z2 side by side last night at the Sony roadshow I somewhat prefer the Z2 and definitely will be getting one when it comes out there is a battery life issue on some models of the Z1 and I asked last night if this has been sorted and they did say a guaranteed yes so for me it's the Z2

That's interesting to know, thanks.

Am I right in thinking that the Z2 comes out in April?

I prefer a 4.3 inch screen on my mobile because I have very small hands & I nearly always carry my phone in my front pocket and a larger phone makes that uncomfortable (especially when you sit down) and would be more likely to jump out of the pocket too.

Just now, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note, which is bigger than the Z1 and Z2, so size isn't an issue for me, but I can understand why some people prefer smaller phones.
