IMEI null blank and baseband version unknow SGH-i537

I have a Samsung Galaxy Active SGH-I537 and am now getting the IMEI Null error message and baseband version is unknown. I cannot get to the Service Mode, because it is blank. Is there a workaround?

Did the phone come with that version? It was released by ATT, but pulled shortly after for being faulty.

I had it repaired from Samsung a while ago and they send it over with the updated version. I really don't want to have to ship it over again.
