I updated my note 2 to Android 4.3. The problem has started since then.I charged it to 100% before sleeping and the following morning I woke up and found that my battery had come down to 72%. My Wifi was turned off the whole night. Going to battery stats, I found that Android OS was consuming 55% of the battery. This is happening over the past few days. Please help!!

Your best option is to use something like battery stats plus and determine what proces/app is causing this.

I used Wakelock detector..It was showing the highest battery consumers are "1013"-9m 29 s x45 times and "Android System"- 6m 24s x604 times..Of it, the notable under Android System are "ActivityManager-Launch" - 58s x141times and "AlarmManager"-48s x274 times..I am getting battery backup of 10-12 hrs with very low usage..Please help!!

Hi. Allthough i have an S3 LTE. And i have had terrible battery drain.

I managed to get rid of the battery drain, by changing to the lockscreen where you draw a pattern between dots.

Then I disabled messafes from apps (can be located in apps manager in settings).

Then i have disabled all synchronisation in the account settings. Google, outlook and so forth.

Then i have set the screenbrightness to aprox 10%, disabled all smartstuff. Like smartstay and stuff.

Then finally I have choosen a black only background image for the home screen and only chosen one widget. Wich is a digital clock. One of those without weather.

After that. I turned off my phone, and took out the battery for a half minnute.
Inserted it again and restarted the phone.

Then i did a factory reset, and made the same settings once again.

Now I have 10 hours on hard usage. More than 24 hours if i only make a 5 minute call and 10 texts. On pure standby, not using the phone at all. I get about 48 hours.

At this moment. I am trying out one or two things at a time to see what drains my battery heavily.

My bet. Is that samsungs swipe lockscren (the one that makes this fluid water sound and visual effect) is a heavy battery hog on S3 and other devices like this.

@Anders Bagger Thanks for your suggestion..I will try that out..I am in full agreement with you, that the Ripple effect in the lockscreen eats a lot of battery and also RAM.

Yes

I am in the same position re the terrible battery life, mainly due the phone randomly coming out of sleep state. Since I have a few apps that don't now work such as dropbox and Skype I am thinking of factory reset ( once I have rooted and fully backup apps / settings) as anyone done this to improve battery life . The suggestions here look good btw
