Samsung Galaxy Note 2 — Battery discharge in Samsung Note II

Hi, been using my Samsung phone for close to a year now and haven't seen battery getting discharged so quickly. I have been noticing this since the last few days post a new update to the firmware. Is there a likely update to rectify the issues and any timelines we can expect?

New firmware updates can reverse battery optimization. I've also noticed my phone sometimes goes through phases where it drains more quickly, and I never quite know why. If an update doesn't come up soon, have you considered installing a custom ROM? You'd need to root (voids the warranty, but after a year it might have expired anyway). I typically find that custom ROMs drastically improve battery life.
