A few months ago Google Play Store started popping up uninvoked on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5, Adroid 4.4.2), with offers to install pre-release apps. This message accompanies each such app.

This app is in development. Be one of the first to try it and provide feedback.

Needless to say, this is quite annoying, particularly because it "steals" the focus from whatever I may be dong on the phone.

Does anyone Know how I can stop this behavior?

Thanks

It seems that now you are a beta tester.

But you can leave the beta program for the app.
1.Select the App from the BETA list in 'My Apps & Games' Section and scroll down. You will see a card saying You are Beta Tester.
2.There you will see an option saying Leave. Tap on it.
3.A message will pop up to confirm your action. Just tap on Leave again.
4.Wait for a few minutes to get fully out of the beta program. Then re-install the app.

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.
The minimalist app available on Play Store: https://goo.gl/ws42fN

I am getting these offers for Apps that I never installed, so if I somehow got into a beta program it must be something global rather than per App. Any idea how to find what's causing it?
