Are my WhatsApp contacts able to contact me with other phone?

So i completely trashed my Nexus 5 and unfortunately have the numbers in the phone only. There's no way to retrieve them with USB cable from the phone. So now i activated WhatsApp and Viber in my temporary iPhone, but can my previous contacts reach me if i don't have these phone numbers anymore? Or will their messages not get sent to me? I have like 9 contacts but none of them have contacted me for over a day which is a bit fishy. I use the same SIM that i had in my Nexus.
