Is my device OK to update ROOTED

Hi, I rooted my phone about 5 Months ago, running fine. About 3 months ago I changed the boot animation. It still works fine. But 2 Days ago I got a message says new firmware update is available. I have a Vodaphone Smart Prime 6.

Is it safe to update to the new firmware.
Also will I loose root and boot animation.

if you have rooted your device than you'll be not able to update........... but it you have installed any custom rom than you can update

Thanks for the reply. But it is a message from Vodafone. A box pops up and says Update firmware or press ignore.
