Do WhatsApp message still send without a SIM card?

Hi guys,

I am just wandering, if I take my SIM card out my phone and then put it back in again... if someone sent me a message whilst the SIM card was out, will it send when i put the sim card back in?

Whatsapp works on internet not on SIM card, so if you are having WiFi network and you take out the SIM, you can still use whatsapp service.
