External hard drive 1tb showing just 196 mb total space

I partitioned an external hard drive 1tb in two partitions: 200 gb and 800 gb. One for my mac backups and the other for use with android and windows. I've tried fat and exfat formats but either works. They work on my mac and they show their actual size and free space but they don't on my galaxy S VI. The phone recognises just one partition of 196 mb. I copied a video to that partition and it worked on the phone but then the notebook doesn't see the file anywhere. I can do the same with an sd card and a pen drive. It's the 1tb hard drive the one that gives me trouble. Any idea what the problem can be?
