WhatsApp needs more improvement.

Even I had the same problem.. I tried deleting from Google account..this might help. If u still going through the same problem, download the app " Sim card manager " from play store and delete that contact from your Sim. Then go to your WhatsApp and refresh contact list. Definitely your problem will be solved .

Hey, this is because in some cases contacts aren't deleted but just hidden. You can use any of the apps that let you manage directly the contacts database and delete even those hidden contacts. For example look for MiniContacts app at the store app.

Just delete the number from main contact list. That's it! If you it to be there in contact list but not in whats app, just block them & keep them hidden.

To delete a contact:
Go to WhatsApp > Contacts.
Tap on the name for the contact you want to remove and tap Edit in the top right corner.
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Contact Info screen.
Tap Delete Contact

Thanks for your step by step instructions on how to delete a contact from What's App. Since it means deleting a phone contact as well, how can I put my phone contact back in without W A using it?
I would like to have only some of my contacts included in my W A list but not all.

This leads to another question; how can I prevent W A from putting an automatic invitation to my other contacts without deleting them?

It is just simple to delete a contact:
1. Go to WhatsApp > Contacts.
2. Tap on the name for the contact you want to remove and tap Edit in the top right corner.
3. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Contact Info screen.
4. Tap Delete Contact.

When you open your whatsapp then just go to settings and find the refresh option. Just refresh it once in the availability of Internet. And you are good to go.

Useful information...

If you want to delete any whatsApp contact, you have to delete it form your phone book. But their is also another option you can block the contact from whatsApp by easily doing following steps.

Open WhatsApp.
Go to Menu.
Open Privacy.
Open blocked accounts.
Tap on add contact in top right corner.
Add the contact you want to delete from whatsApp.

On the Contact Info screen, select Menu > View in address book
Press Delete (button in the shape of a trash can) > OK.
To double-check that the contact has, in fact, been removed, go to Contacts > Menu > Refresh
To delete your chat history with this person, go to the Chats tab, press and hold their name for a couple of seconds, and select Delete chat
