Media sharing via home network

Hi,

Having problems streaming my media to my TV. on the galaxy s4 and S5 mini there was this button where I could then choose to connect to my smart TV via home network or screen mirroring. but when I try to do this on my new s7 edge I get this option to 'smart view' and it basically just mirrors the screen or extends. I'd rather use the network option because then I can control the media from my TV remote and the quality is a lot better. how can I do this. I'm stuck.
