Smart switch rant: The absurdity of replacing a light switch
Life or death, night or day, on or off, all these concepts are delightfully simple. Somehow in a twisted manner, however, manufacturers of smart home products have managed to replace this simple concept in many households with voice commands and smartphone controls. Smart light switches suck, even if they are advertised as being particularly practical and clever.

Cyborg overreview: Startup makes me an "ultrahuman"
Ultrahuman calls its customers "cyborgs", selling them sensors that measure glucose from the interstitial tissue via a small hair-like flexible filament just under the skin on a continuous basis. Stop! Do not blindly buy smartphones on AliExpress!
Buying a smartphone on AliExpress is not something strange to do in 2022. However, I have the impression that some of us make a purchase on the grey market without being aware of the risks.

OnePlus and its alarm clock app makes me mad!
It's a big deal! I have said to my editor colleagues and now to the rest of the world! The OnePlus Clock application, and more specifically the Alarm Clock feature, is the only thing I truly hate, with all of my guts, in OxygenOS and in this world in general.

In recent years, we have seen a steady, creeping change in apps: Instead of buying apps, people are in increasing number 'renting' them in the guise of subscription models. But where does this trend change actually stem from, what are the problems and possibly, the opportunities?

Confessional interview: "Yes, I subscribe to YouTube Premium and I'm not ashamed of it!"
YouTube Premium subscribers are a bit like people who buy WinRAR, they don't exist. At least that's what I thought before Camila Rinaldi, my esteemed colleague at NextPit.com, made a dark confession last week.

Are you suffering from headline anxiety? Here is how to stop doomscrolling!
It will be needless to say that the world around us seems to not be at its best. At least not in my relatively short, living memory. From the political climate of the past few years to the COVID pandemic and the tragic events in Ukraine, we are constantly being bombarded with news. Today I want to raise awareness on the issue of "doomscrolling" and the negative impact of unpleasant news on our digital lifestyle.

Opinion | The Galaxy A 2022 line is disappointing, and the charger was the last straw
Samsung just finished updating its phone lineup for the first semester, with its flagship S models, and the entry-level and mid-range phones in the Galaxy A range, coming with new phones for 2022. But after a very interesting 2021 lineup, this year’s Galaxy A line just leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
