500: maintenance mode

Greetings from the Engine Room!

Sorry, but there's really nothing to see here right now. Our server is in maintenance mode – and our little bot is trying to sort the error messages with its last bit of energy.

Whether it was a data leak, a power outage in the cluster, or just a grumpy bit – we don't know yet. But what we do know is:

The data drama escalated into a server meltdown. But don't worry: We're on it.

What now?

  • Everything is surely running smoothly over at our colleagues from inside digital – why not stop by!
  • Or you could pass the time by visiting our social media channels – for example Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. At least there are no server problems there – promised.

Thanks for your patience. Our bot is already rebooting at full speed. 🔧

We don't care about the yellow iPhone 14 but Apple didn't randomly choose this color
Apple has launched a new yellow color for its iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. I know, who cares, right? If it were any other Android manufacturer, we wouldn't be talking about it. However, as insignificant as this non-news item may be at first glance, the choice of the color itself and the timing of its launch by Apple were far from being insignificant and uninteresting.

Why an Underwhelming Android 14 Launch Could Be Problematic
As we anticipate the latest mobile software releases from Google and Apple, concerns arise regarding the forthcoming Android 14 update. There are worries that the update may not offer significant improvements over previous versions, potentially placing Google at a disadvantage in the highly competitive smartphone market. After exploring the possible new features, I share this concern and believe that Google will need to work hard to maintain its market position.

Opinion: Your Next Smartphone Will Inevitably Be a Foldable Flip
What if the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is more popular than the Z Fold 5 this year? Foldable clamshell smartphones have long been second-rate foldables, but things could change in 2023. With their larger external displays, the Oppo Find N2 Flip and Motorola Razr 2023 could take over passport-sized foldable smartphones. Find out why 2023 will be the year of foldable clamshell smartphones.

Why I totally changed my mind about the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
I have been complaining a lot about the Galaxy S23 Ultra from Samsung. I criticized it for not bringing enough new features compared to the Galaxy S22 Ultra and for being far too expensive. But after reviewing the device and using it as my daily driver, I've totally changed my mind. What caused this change? Read on and I'll tell you why.

Opinion: Why you should definitely update your phone in 2023
If you have been holding on to upgrade your phone, 2023 may be the best time in years to get a new flagship phone. And that despite the current bad situation in the economy. Flagships models not only will be faster (as they should) but also experience less throttling and promise noticeably better battery life than previous generations.

Huawei without Google in 2023? It is time to give up

Opinion: The Oppo Find N2 is the foldable we deserve (but won't have)
I am angry. Hulk-level angry. Oppo decided to sell its best smartphone of the year within the confines of China only for 2023. While reviewing the Oppo Find N2 for you, I ended up with a mixture of anger and butterflies in the stomach. Argh!
