500: maintenance mode

Greetings from the Engine Room!

Sorry, but there's really nothing to see here right now. Our server is in maintenance mode – and our little bot is trying to sort the error messages with its last bit of energy.

Whether it was a data leak, a power outage in the cluster, or just a grumpy bit – we don't know yet. But what we do know is:

The data drama escalated into a server meltdown. But don't worry: We're on it.

What now?

  • Everything is surely running smoothly over at our colleagues from inside digital – why not stop by!
  • Or you could pass the time by visiting our social media channels – for example Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. At least there are no server problems there – promised.

Thanks for your patience. Our bot is already rebooting at full speed. 🔧

The Nexus smartphone is now in its seventh generation, and for the first time, Google has released two versions of its developer smartphone in the same year. The Nexus 5X, reviewed here, is the successor to 2013’s Nexus 5, which set a new benchmark for price-performance ratios. In this Nexus 5X review, we investigate whether LG has hit that sweet spot once again. Nexus 6P review: the best Nexus ever Nexus 5 vs Nexus 5X

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 review: the notcracker
There’s a new member in Motorola’s 2015 flagship lineup: the Droid Turbo 2. It extends the feature set of the Moto X Pure Edition with a bigger battery, faster processor and an “unbreakable” screen. The Droid 2 eschews Motorola’s tradition of high-end but affordable phones, however, so is it worth the cost? Find out in our full Motorola Droid Turbo 2 review. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 review: does this fine phablet still deliver?
When it first arrived, the Galaxy Note 4 was, without doubt, Samsung’s greatest smartphone ever. Almost a year later, how does the Note 4 hold up now? Find out in our Samsung Galaxy Note 4 review. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 review Galaxy Note 4 vs Galaxy Note 5 Best Android phones

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 review: the phone everyone should have
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was announced in August 2015, for a remarkable sub-US$200 price. It honors Xiaomi’s philosophy of providing quality Android smartphones for a fair price, while delivering an excellent user experience. The Redmi Note 2 brings improvements over its predecessor, but can this smartphone hold its own against such competitors as the LG G4, Galaxy S6 Edge+ or the iPhone 6S Plus? Apparently, Motorola wants to establish a new category of smartphones. Xiaomi Mi4c review: the half-price Nexus 5X
The Xiaomi Mi4c is now available, with a specs sheet that’s very much like the Nexus 5X’s, at half the price. In many ways, it’s the phone we all wanted the 2015 Nexus to be. I spent a few days getting to know the Mi4C, putting it through its paces and seeing how it compares to devices that cost double or triple the price. Find out how it performed in our full Xiaomi Mi4c review.

Galaxy S6 drop test: how easily does it break?
From which height can you drop the Galaxy S6 before it breaks? I wanted to know this since Samsung switched the design of its flagship from bendable plastic to breakable glass. Then my chance came – via post. Evolutive Labs, the manufacturer of the RhinoShield Crash Guard, sent me a Galaxy S6 wrapped in its sturdy bumper case for one purpose. To try to smash it.
