500: maintenance mode

Greetings from the Engine Room!

Sorry, but there's really nothing to see here right now. Our server is in maintenance mode – and our little bot is trying to sort the error messages with its last bit of energy.

Whether it was a data leak, a power outage in the cluster, or just a grumpy bit – we don't know yet. But what we do know is:

The data drama escalated into a server meltdown. But don't worry: We're on it.

What now?

  • Everything is surely running smoothly over at our colleagues from inside digital – why not stop by!
  • Or you could pass the time by visiting our social media channels – for example Instagram, YouTube or TikTok. At least there are no server problems there – promised.

Thanks for your patience. Our bot is already rebooting at full speed. 🔧

Why Mindroid is a head trip
Last week, a friend recommended I place my phone on my face and let it flash bright lights in my eyes while the speakers sang like digital whales. Clearly, this was not a recommendation to ignore. The app’s called Mindroid. Here’s what I learned from time inside the mind machine. Best Android apps Best free Android apps

Motorola Moto 360 (2015) review: the one to watch
The Moto 360 second generation is a solid improvement over last year’s model. Motorola has given its smartwatch a new processor and a few design tweaks, plus it now comes in two sizes and remains super customizable. After a week of using it, however, I still get the impression that the Moto 360 will spend another year behind the competition. Read our full Moto 360 (2015) review to find out why. Update: Marshmallow has been confirmed for the Moto 360, find out more details in the software section below. Best Android smartwatches Moto 360 (2015) vs Samsung Gear S2 comparison

Honor 5X review: solid specs, incredible price
Huawei’s Honor 7 was the price-performance miracle of 2015, and the follow-up, the Honor 5X, is being sold at an even more attractive price. It’s also the company’s first phone to officially launch in the US. In our Honor 5X review, we look at what this new competitor has on the likes of the Moto X Play and Huawei GX8, and whether it belies its low price. Best Chinese smartphones Honor 7 review

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium review: 4K forte
The Xperia Z5 Premium is, according to Sony, the first smartphone with a 4K screen. This means it has an insane pixel density of 807 ppi. Its other remarkable feature is its high price. Is it justified by 4K resolution and the Z5 Premium’s other features? Find out in our Sony Xperia Z5 Premium review. Sony Xperia Z5 review Sony Xperia Z5 Compact review

Huawei GX8 review: no compromises
Huawei introduced the new Huawei GX8 during the fall of 2015. This 5.5-inch smartphone belongs to the new range that could be considered ‘high-midrange’, as we consider the Moto X Play to be. Have these smartphones chiseled out a new class, or are they midrangers disguised as something else? Let’s look at how it stacks up in this Huawei GX8 review. Huawei P8 review Huawei Mate S review

LG G4 review: big, leathery, and impressive in all the right places
The LG G4 is the company’s contender for 2015’s finest smartphone. With an ever-so-slightly curved screen, QHD resolution, and seductive leather back, the G4 certainly has chart-topping potential. But does it improve on its predecessor enough to have that ‘wow’ factor or is LG settled on ‘more of the same’? Read our LG G4 review to find out.
